The Association was originally formed in 1969 and since then has made significant improvements to the river environment and its wild fish stocks, opening up spawning sites to migratory fish and monitoring water quality.  After a lull in activity from 2013 to early 2018, the Association has been re-invigorated and is once again working hard to ensure the continued protection and improvement of the river habitat with a focus on wild fish stocks.  Working with bodies such as the South West Rivers Association (SWRA), the Westcountry Rivers Trust (WRT) and the Environment Agency we have identified key areas of focus which are summarised in the accompanying pages.
