Survey of spawning sites and migration

In the Autumn of 2018, volunteers will attempt to provide data from key sites where obstacles to migration have been identified.  These include established weirs and also beaver dams in small tributaries, where surveys will help establish whether these obstacles can be passed by migrating trout and salmon.

If you would like to report obstacles you are concerned about, please do so HERE.

Electrofishing surveys

As part of its monitoring program, the Association is hoping to commission electrofishing surveys.  These will be designed to provide data on the general fish population in the river, and assist in analysing the impact of particular features, such as beaver dams within the smaller streams and tributaries.

Bankside protection and regeneration

In future we plan to support projects that will help to protect banks and improve in-river habitat for wild fish stocks.
